Golddiggers Minutes of 2/22/99

The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM.

Present were Ken Welle, Mark Eastom, John Oravis, Nao Ikeda, Mike Hebert, Keith Carlson, and Bruce Kvam.

The minutes from the previous meeting were approved with emendations on the dates and locations of the spring tournaments, and the matter of the team mementos (none were given). The treasurer's report was accepted.

John thanked everyone for all their hard work on the banquet. He also sent Sarah Pearman a note of thanks.

Potential Board Members

Mike Quinn, a coaches club member, has been mentioned as a potential board member. John and DuAnn Thompson were also mentioned.

A new treasurer should be found before summer. Keith is willing to serve as long as necessary, but finding a replacement would be better sooner than later, because Keith is not in town full-time.

Spring Tournaments

There will be four spring tournaments this year. They will include

A hospitality room is not required at the Minnesota tournament this year, since there will be no referee clinic. By the same token, referees will have to be hired to fill the gap. Bruce Kvam will get in touch with someone in the USAV to find a contact for Nao. He has provided Nao with Jose Jones' name and number.

Ken Welle will handle concessions at the tournament. He will contact Tom Pearman for hints and/or moral support.

Summer Picnic

Mike Hebert proposed that the summer picnic be held in conjunction with the Alumnae match, which is Saturday, August 28th. This will allow alumnae to participate in the picnic. It was proposed that the Golddiggers pick up the cost for the attending alumnae. A reliable count will be helpful for ordering food. The club room in Williams was suggested as a possible location.

Coach Hebert suggested that a fan clinic, or something similar, could be held before the match.

Next Meeting

The meeting was adjourned at 8:02. The next meeting will be held Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at 7:00 PM in the Club Room of the Sports Pavilion.
