We were originally going to use Laidlaw, which give a discount to the UofMN. They've overbooked their buses for this weekend, though. So, we're using Lorenz Bus Company
There's a football (that "other" fall sport) game in Madison on Saturday. The hotels are filled up. In addition, the bus company's rules would make it difficult to start in Madison Saturday, and get back to Minneapolis without stopping in a hotel for the night.
We will be at the Holiday Inn Northshore, in Skokie, IL. It's about 20 minutes from the Northwestern Arena. It's also where the team will be staying (they will be coming in Saturday, probably in the late morning).
Yes. There is no additional cost for extra people. There is a $10 charge for adding a roll-away bed. Talk to the hotel when you call them up.
Each person is responsible for his/her room at the hotel. It's easier than us collecting money for the hotel, with all the different possibilities. It also limits our liability, if you decide to throw a party in your room.
Players get a limited number of tickets that can be given to relatives and friends. As a general rule of thumb, if you don't know about the pass list, you aren't on it.
Yes. We will be going through the UofMN ticket office to get a block of tickets. You won't be charged anything more than face value, so there is no benefit, and only the chance for confusion, if we had people buying their own tickets.
Most people who were interested in the Madison trip were also interested in the two-match trip that we are planning. Right now, there's only enough interest for one bus. If we get more interest, we will consider getting a second bus, that will just go down to Madison on Friday, and return that night.
We hope it doesn't happen, but if we don't get enough people going, we'll cancel the bus, cancel the hotel reservations, and refund 100% of the money sent in. We will not try and convert it to a 1-day trip if we can?t get this to work. If we get close to the number needed, we'll verify that everyone's still interested in the trip, for a slightly higher bus cost.
If we get up to 47 people, we'll re-calculate the bus costs, and give you each some money on the day of the trip. If we get 80 people who want to go, we'll have to get a second bus, and a lot more hotel rooms!
There are six players on the court.
